George Emerson Book Collection
Middlemarch residents Richard & Norma Emerson have donated a large collection of historical New Zealand books to the museum. Richard’s late father, George Emerson, collected these over a lifetime and Richard has chosen to make them accessible for people to access at the museum.
Financial and Life Members* of Strath Taieri Historical Society Inc. are welcome to borrow books from the collection for a period of up to one month. Some large books will only be available for perusal at the Museum, but they are items such as biographical dictionaries where you can research specific people or places.
*We welcome new and returning members. Please request an application form by phone, email or in person at the museum. The annual subscription is $10.
We will review individual books on a regular basis so you can see how they might interest you.
